The show was bad, but I was great

I had it in my heart. I believed in myself, and I had confidence. I knew how to do it, had natural talent and I pursued it.

For the black man to come out superior would be against America's teachings. I have been so great in boxing they had to create an image like Rocky, a white image on the screen, to counteract my image in the ring. America has to have its white images, no matter where it gets them. Jesus, Wonder Woman, Tarzan and Rocky.

Success is not achieved by winning all the time. Real success comes when we rise after we fall.

During my boxing career, you did not see the real Muhammad Ali. You just saw a little boxing and a little showmanship. It was after I retired from boxing that my true work began.
