It doesn't matter how far you might rise. At some point you are bound to stumble because if you’re constantly doing what we do, raising the bar. If you're constantly pushing yourself higher, higher the law of averages not to mention the Myth of Icarus predicts that you will at some point fall. And when you do I want you to know this, remember this: there is no such thing as failure. Failure is just life trying to move us in another direction.

When you have done everything that you can do, surrender. Give yourself up to the power and energy that's greater than yourself.

I will tell you that there have been no failures in my life. I don't want to sound like some metaphysical queen,but there have been no failures. There have been some tremendous lessons.

Can you see me? Can you hear me? Does anything I say mean anything to you?

I've learned that every single trial offers us a chance to either turn away from what we know to be true, or to stand strong in who we are...

We're all called. If you're here breathing, you have a contribution to make.

I'm black, I don't feel burdened by it and I don't think it's a huge responsibility. It's part of who I am. It does not define me.
