The times talk to us of so much poverty in the world and this is a scandal. Poverty in the world is a scandal. In a world where there is so much wealth, so many resources to feed everyone, it is unfathomable that there are so many hungry children, that there are so many children without an education, so many poor persons. Poverty today is a cry.

The family is where we are formed as people. Every family is a brick in the building of society

We need to avoid the spiritual sickness of a church that is wrapped up in its own world: when a church becomes like this, it grows sick.

A society which abandons children and the elderly severs its roots and darkens its future.

In the poor and outcast we see Christ’s face; by loving and helping the poor, we love and serve Christ.

If we start without confidence, we have already lost half the battle and we bury our talents.
