The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus.

Since many of you do not belong to the Catholic Church and others are non-believers, from the bottom of my heart I give this silent blessing to each and every one of you, respecting the conscience of each one of you but knowing that each one of you is a child of God.

In the roughest moments, remember: God is our Father; God does not abandon his children.

Workers should have Sundays off because Sunday is for the family. Calling for Sundays to be a holiday.

It’s like in soccer: you have to deal with the penalties where they fall; you can’t choose where they’re going to land. Life is like that, and you have to deal with it even if you don’t like it.

I want the Church to go out onto the streets, I want us to resist everything worldly, everything static, everything comfortable...eve rything that might make us closed in on ourselves.

Don’t be afraid to ask God for forgiveness. He never tires of forgiving us. God is pure mercy.
