We are all sinners. But may the Lord not let us be hypocrites. Hypocrites don’t know the meaning of forgiveness, joy and the love of God.

I ask you to ensure that humanity is served by wealth, and not ruled by it.

A poverty learned with the humble, the poor, the sick and all those who are on the existential outskirts of life. A theoretical poverty is no use to us. Poverty is learned by touching the flesh of the poor Christ, in the humble, in the poor, in the sick and in children.

One cannot offend, make war, kill in the name of one's own religion, that is, in the name of God.

Jesus on the cross feels the whole weight of the evil, and with the force of God's love he conquers it; he defeats it with his resurrection. This is the good that Jesus does for us on the throne of the cross. Christ's cross, embraced with love, never leads to sadness, but to joy, to the joy of having been saved and of doing a little of what he did on the day of his death.

We are called to live our baptism every day, as new creatures, clothed in Christ.

The cross is the price of true love. Lord, give us the strength to accept and carry our crosses!
