Today, elderly people are discarded when, in reality, they are the seat of wisdom of the society...the right to life means allowing people to live and not killing, allowing them to grow, to eat, to be educated, to be healed, and to be permitted to die with dignity.

The love of God is not generic. God looks with love upon every man and woman, calling them by name.

May Christ the Savior give peace to Nigeria, where more blood is being shed and too many people are unjustly deprived of their possessions, held as hostages or killed.

I had the habit of not accepting prizes or honors, but always, not out of humility, but because I don't like them.

A Christian brings peace to others. Not only peace, but also love, kindness, faithfulness and joy.

It is my hope that inter-religious and ecumenical cooperation will demonstrate that men and women do not have to forsake their identity, whether ethnic or religious, in order to live in harmony with their brothers and sisters. If we are honest in presenting our convictions, we will be able to see more clearly what we hold in common.

The fight against poverty and hunger must be fought constantly and on many fronts, especially in its causes.
