Let those desert places in our hearts bloom.

We are impatient, anxious to see the whole picture, but God lets us see things slowly, quietly.

Any Church community, if it thinks it can comfortably go its own way without creative concern and effective cooperation in helping the poor to live with dignity and reaching out to everyone, will also risk breaking down.

A delicate balance is required to combat violence perpetrated in the name of a religion, an ideology or an economic system, while also safeguarding religious freedom, intellectual freedom and individual freedoms. But there is another temptation which we must especially guard against: the simplistic reductionism which sees only good or evil; or, if you will, the righteous and sinners.

Do not be afraid to dream great things!

Let us draw from the crib the joy and deep peace that Jesus comes to bring to the world.

Being a Christian means renouncing ourselves, taking up the cross and carrying it with Jesus. There is no other way.
