I simply followed (my teacher's) instruction which was to focus the mind on pure being 'I am', and stay in it. I used to sit for hours together, with nothing but the 'I am' in my mind and soon peace and joy and a deep all-embracing love became my normal state. In it all disappeared -- myself, my Guru, the life I lived, the world around me. Only peace remained and unfathomable silence.
Sri Nisargadatta MaharajFreedom is from something. What are you to be free from? Obviously, you must be free from the person you take yourself to be, for it is the idea you have of yourself that keeps you in bondage.
Sri Nisargadatta MaharajStay open and quiet, that is all. What you seek is so near you that there is no place for a way.
Sri Nisargadatta MaharajTo find reality you must be real in the smallest daily action; there can be no deceit in the search for truth.
