If we empower ourselves with responsibility over our actions, responsibility over our destinies and responsibility for directing and maintaining and creating our own ethical and moral frameworks, which is the most important thing really isnโt it because perhaps the greatest insult to humanism is this idea that mankind needs a god in order to have a moral framework.
Stephen FryIf you know someone whoโs depressed, please resolve never to ask them why. Depression isnโt a straightforward response to a bad situation; depression just is, like the weather. Try to understand the blackness, lethargy, hopelessness, and loneliness theyโre going through. Be there for them when they come through the other side. Itโs hard to be a friend to someone whoโs depressed, but it is one of the kindest, noblest, and best things you will ever do.
