What happens to the wide-eyed observer when the window between reality and unreality breaks and the glass begins to fly?

Good writing is often about letting go of fear and affectation. Affectation itself, beginning with the need to define some sorts of writing as 'good' and other sorts as 'bad' is fearful behavior.

Of the books I read each year, anywhere from six to a dozen are on tape.
