All of my songs are autobiographical.

When we fall in love and we have a first kiss with someone, we never ever imagine that someday that could be a last kiss.

I like to write about love and love lost because I feel like there are so many different subcategories of emotions.

I don't need to edit names out of songs and I don't need to edit details out of my songs because I've always been able to be honest with my music. That's the one place where I'm never ever going to change how I do things.

Actually, I think you have to know that whatever advice you give, they may not take it. The priority should be on keeping the friendship rather than giving the best advice. Your best advice is usually, 'Walk away from him! Tell him you never want to see him again!' But if you are dealing with someone still in love, nothing you say can change their feelings. All you can do is be there for them and pick them up every time they get hurt. Until, that is, they are ready to move on for themselves.

The truth of it is that every singer out there with songs on the radio is raising the next generation. So make your words count.
