There's no black and white dividing line between a mild Aspergers, which is the mild autism, and computer engineer, for example.

If you have a 2 or 3 year old who is not talking, you must start an early intervention program. The worst thing you can do with an autistic 3 year old is to do nothing.

There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child CAN do, instead of what he cannot do.

Some autistic people have savant skills. All autistic people do not have savant skills. Autism is a very variable disorder varying all the way from Einstein, emollient scientist, just a little bit of the trait, many scientist and engineers, down to somebody that's going to remain nonverbal.
