While we want doubts to give way to faith, we should be merciful and patient with those who are still in a doubt-troubled place.

Important reminder: It's not fair of you to demand more proof of Christians for their beliefs than you demand for your own.

While Christianity was able to agree with pagan writers that inordinate attachment to earthly goods can lead to unnecessary pain and grief, it also taught that the answer to this was not to love things less but to love God more than anything else. Only when our greatest love is God, a love that we cannot lose even in death, can we face all things with peace. Grief was not to be eliminated but seasoned and buoyed up with love and hope.

A triune God would call us to converse with him . . . because he wants to share the joy he has. Prayer is our way of entering into the happiness of God himself.

How could you possibly know that no religion can see the whole truth unless you yourself have the superior, comprehensive knowledge of spiritual reality you just claimed non of the religions have?

Change won’t happen through ‘trying harder’ but only through encountering the radical grace of God.
