There is nothing “still” in the remarkably visceral poems of Alexander Long's third collection, Still Life, and nothing is at rest in these restless and edgy poems. Once I planned to write a book of poems entirely about the things in my pocket. But I found it would be too long; and the age of the great epics is past.

A book of poems doesn't just come out by chance, an editor has to select it, a publisher has to distribute it or you will never see it.
