It is true that the mental aspect of kung-fu is the desired end; however, to achieve this end, technical skill must come first.

Having totality means being capable of following "what is," because "what is" is constantly moving and constantly changing. If one is anchored to a particular view, one will not be able to follow the swift movement of "what is.

Forget about winning and losing; forget about pride and pain. Let your opponent graze your skin and you smash into his flesh; let him smash into your flesh and you fracture his bones; let him fracture your bones and you take his life! Do not be concerned with escaping safely- lay your life before him!!

Life is an ever-flowing process and somewhere on the path some unpleasant things will pop up - it might leave a scar, but then life is flowing, and like running water, when it stops it grows stale. Go bravely on, my friend, because each experience teaches us a lesson. Keep blasting because life is such that sometimes it is nice and sometimes it is not.

Evaluation by others is not a guide for me.

Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water.

We should devote ourselves to being self-sufficient and must not depend upon the external ratings by others for our happiness.
