Our job is unconditional love. The job of everyone else in our life is to push our buttons.

Rather than understand the original cause-a thought-we try to change the stressful feelings by looking outside ourselves.

If I think the environment in the world needs to be cleaned up, let me clean up my own environment. Let me clean up the environment in my head - let me work with that pollution and that ecosystem.

I believe in the power of every human being to end suffering.

If your happiness depends on your children being happy, that makes them your hostages. So stay out of their business, stop using them for your happiness, and be your own happiness. And that way you are the teacher for your children: someone who knows how to live a happy life.
