We all want to explain ourselves. Nobody wants to be forgotten.

We are not special. We are not crap or trash, either. We just are. We just are, and what happens just happens.

Get through the moment. Avoid confrontation. Run away. That's pretty much how we get through our own lives, watching television. Smoking crap. Self-medicating. Redirecting our own attention. Jacking off. Denial.

The truth is you can be orphaned again and again and again. The truth is, you will be. And the secret is, this will hurt less and less each time until you can't feel a thing. Trust me on this.

Either a species learns to control its own population, or something like disease, famine, war, will take care of the issue.

The only thing I shy away from is non-consensual violence. I can't write a story where someone is a simple victim because it's boring.

Because tanning and steroids are only a problem if you plan to live a long time.
