I believe that the time has come for women to take more active roles in all domains of human society, in an age in which education and the capacities of the mind, not physical strength, define leadership. This could help create a more equitable and compassionate society.

It's unrealistic to think that the future of humanity can be achieved only on the basis of prayer; what we need is to take action.

There is a true feminist movement in Buddhism that relates to the goddess Tārā. For all my lifetimes along the path I vow to be born as a woman, and in my final lifetime when I attain Buddhahood, then, too, I will be a woman.'
