Now you are on the Buddhist way. Keep up your meditation, as there is no instant illumination. The mind moves slowly into this. Do not become attached to your method. When, in the course of your meditation, your consciousness will have expanded and been transformed, you will then recognize that all the ways are valid ways.

Inner darkness, which we call ignorance, is the root of suffering. The more inner light that comes, the more darkness will diminish. This is the only way to achieve salvation or nirvana.

We need an approach to ethics which makes no recourse to religion and can be equally acceptable to those with faith and those without.

Compassion is not religious business, it is human business, it is not luxury, it is essential for our own peace and mental stability, it is essential for human survival.

The best way to resolve any problem in the human world is for all sides to sit down and talk.

Inner values like friendship, trust, honesty and compassion are much more reliable than money - they always bring happiness and strength.

If we have a positive mental attitude, then even when surrounded by hostility, we shall not lack inner peace.
