People read vampire novels and say, Oh I want to read another vampire novel. People read fantasy, and theyre like, Oh I love fantasy. I dont know that people are necessarily finishing Hunger Games and immediately wanting to read another dystopian tale.

I was attempting to write the story of my life. It wasn't so much about plot. It was much more about character.

You leave the phone on beside you as you fall asleep. I sit in my bed and listen to your breathing, until I know you are safe, until I know you no longer need me for the night.

They defy gravity, as good books should.

Deep down? That sounds like settling to me. You shouldn't have to venture deep down in order to get to love.

In my mind’s eye, I picture myself like that, reacting to you.
