Christian spirituality was not a children's story. It wasn't cute or neat. It was mystical and odd and clean, and it was reaching into dirty. There was wonder in it and enchantment.

I do not believe a person can take two issues from Scripture, those being abortion and gay marriage, and adhere to them as sins, then neglect much of the rest and call himself a fundamentalist or even a conservative. Our lives have a countdown clock that we can't see. Mine reminds me to only do work that matters.

I love to give to charity, but I don't want to be charity. This is why I have so much trouble with grace.
