The actual experience of awakening can only be in the present moment.

It's harder for me, never having brought up a child, to enter the universe of the child.

People believe that when they say "yes" to this moment, things won't change anymore. They're afraid that if they accept what is, whatever form this moment takes, they're going to be stuck forever in this moment that they don't like: this job or relationship or whatever situation they're in that they don't like. But this is not true.

If the thought of lack -whether it be money, recognition, or love has become part of who you think you are, you will always experience lack. Rather than acknowledge the good that is already in your life, all you see is lack.

When you are suffering, when you are unhappy, stay totally with what is Now. Unhappiness or problems cannot survive in the Now.

The great arises out of small things that are honored and cared for.

A teacher or teaching is not essential for spiritual awakening, but they save time.
