I started to meditate formally at about 18. I would sit on a mountaintop in Southern California around twilight and focus on my third eye. Everything would become still and rings of light would appear, and I'd go through them. I would be beyond time and space.

I think one can advance faster outside a monastery if you use the experiences of daily life to advance yourself.

When you are just thinking a lot of silly thoughts and having a lot of worries, you waste a tremendous energy and power and you put yourself into very limited states of mind. You slow down your evolutionary process.

The basic assumption of tantra is that God not only exists in the superconscious, God also exists in the lowest forms of existence.

Imagine wave after wave of joy passing through your whole body. As each wave passes through your body, feel that all worries, tensions, anxieties and problems are being washed away.

If you are trying to aid people in the process of self-discovery, what you have to do is confound them with so many concepts that are contradictory, yet each make complete sense in its own right.

Keep a sense of humor, that keeps you balanced, and you'll do quite well with it all, I'm sure.
