At the bottom of things, most people want to be understood and appreciated.

All living beings have Buddha nature and can become Buddhas.

Attachment is the source of all suffering.

Of what I know, I have told you only a little. Why have I not told you the rest? Because it would not lead you to Nirvana.

A man should first direct himself in the way he should go. Only then should he instruct others.

Yet the Teaching is simple. Do what is right. Be pure. At the end of the way is freedom.

Imagine that every person in the world is enlightened but you. They are all your teachers, each doing just the right things to help you learn perfect patience, perfect wisdom, perfect compassion.
