We must at times search our own souls and discover what we really are. Our real character, much as we would wish, cannot be hidden.

A grateful heart is a beginning of greatness. It is an expression of humility.

There are times when each of us has to have some gumption to take a stand as to what we wish to preserve or change in order to maintain our self-respect and not be as "a reed shaken with the wind" (Matt. 11:7) . . . . We lose much credibility and strength, and we risk being weighed on an uneven balance, when, Don Quixote-like, we go around "tilting windmills".

There is no greater good in all the world than motherhood. The influence of a mother in the lives of her children is beyond calculation.

Private choices are not private; they all have public consequences...Our society is the sum total of what millions of individuals do in their private lives. That sum total of private behavior has worldwide public consequences of enormous magnitude. There are no completely private choices.

Noble fatherhood gives us a glimpse of the divine attributes of our Father in Heaven.

We frequently find that the influence of good women is underrated. It is an influence that is often subtle but yet has tremendous consequences. One woman can make a great difference for a whole nation.
