I have had some sorry-ass looks, but I'm the first one to laugh. I'm either to credit or to blame for the '80s.

What drew me to politics in the first place was the fact that I wanted to have a place to take a stand and use my voice to express what I believed in. But I've no longer got any political aspirations. I feel that as a politician, fifty per cent of people would hate you before you even left the house.

I could always write songs, act, get into politics, or stay home with the kids. But I've got to have some fun.

If you're from New Jersey, let people make all those bad jokes about our state. Don't let anyone know how great it is here. It's the best kept secret.
