You do not keep American democracy in suspense. Because, look, too many people have marched and protested and fought and died for this democracy.

I mean, hope doesn't get actualized in three and a half years. If that were the case, we'd be out of luck as a country.

The biggest obstacle facing girls is education, education, education. There are too many kids who think high school is a pit stop to fame and fortune. I want girls in this country to think education is the coolest, most important thing they could ever do in their lives.

I try to be thoughtful about spreading the wealth: young designers. Mixing things up is important to me.

My goal has always been to add value, not to be redundant, not to get in the way, but to do things that lift and move things forward in a very strategic and objective way so that there are real outcomes.

I have never felt more confident in myself, more clear on who I am as a woman. But I am constantly thinking about my own health and making sure that I'm eating right and getting exercise and watching the aches and pains. I want to be this really fly 80-90-year old.

People want to feel hopeful.
