I set up this magazine called Student when I was 16, and I didn't do it to make money - I did it because I wanted to edit a magazine. There wasn't a national magazine run by students, for students. I didn't like the way I was being taught at school. I didn't like what was going on in the world, and I wanted to put it right.

If you don’t enjoy it, don’t do it. You must love what you do.

Life is a helluva lot more fun if you say yes rather than no

A business is simply an idea to make other people's lives better.

If you find yourself stuck in the middle there is only one way to go, forward.

Conflicts often stem from a couple of leaders on both sides that are badly brought up. They'd rather go to war than compromise. And in business, you're competing with other companies all the time, but you don't end up going to war with each other.

Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to.
