Isn't a kid alive who doesn't dream about rewarding her folks, or punishing them.

We can spend our lives letting the world tell us who we are. Sane or insane. Saints or sex addicts. Heroes or victims. Letting history tell us how good or bad we are. Letting our past decide our future. Or we can decide for ourselves. And maybe it's our job to invent something better.

There's an opposite to déjà vu. They call it jamais vu. It's when you meet the same people or visit places, again and again, but each time is the first. Everybody is always a stranger. Nothing is ever familiar.

Did perpetual happiness in the Garden of Eden maybe get so boring that eating the apple was justified?

The things you used to own, now they own you.

We kind of deny the stages of life.

Without access to true chaos, we'll never have true peace. Unless everything can get worse, it won't get any better.
