Material development certainly contributes to happiness - to some extent - and a comfortable way of life. But this is not sufficient. To achieve a deeper level of happiness we cannot neglect our inner development.

The past is past, and the future is yet to come. That means the future is in your hands - the future entirely depends on the present. That realization gives you a great responsibility.

It is our enemies who provide us with the challenge we need to develop the qualities of tolerance, patience and compassion.

Only the development of compassion and understanding for others can bring us the tranquility and happiness we all seek.
