I'm now nearly 79. At 16 I took responsibility for Tibet and lost my freedom. At 24 I lost my country and became a refugee. I've met difficulties, but as the saying goes: 'Wherever you're happy, you can call home, and whoever is kind to you is like your parents.' I've been happy and at home in the world at large. Living a meaningful life isn't just a matter of money; it's about dedicating your life to helping others.

Love and compassion ... are the ultimate source of human happiness, and the need for them lies at the very core of our being.

Man surprised me most about humanity.Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.

First one must change. I first watch myself, check myself, then expect changes from others.

Try to improve. Don't expect too much, but don't feel discouraged either; keep up your enthusiasm; you will make progress.

When we develop a right attitude of compassion and gratitude, we take a giant step towards solving our personal and international problems

Once you have a genuine sense of concern for others, there’s no room for cheating, bullying or exploitation.
