The proper way to create friends is to have a warm heart, not simply money or power. The friend of power and the friend of money are something different.

I find that because of modern technological evolution and our global economy, and as a result of the great increase in population, our world has greatly changed: it has become much smaller. However, our perceptions have not evolved at the same pace; we continue to cling to old national demarcations and the old feelings of 'us' and 'them'.

Overcoming negative tendencies and enhancing positive potential are the very essence of the spiritual path.

I have found that the greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion. The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It is the ultimate source of success in life.

The greatest antidote to insecurity & sense of fear is compassion. It brings one back to the basis of one's inner strength.

The real test of compassion is not what we say in abstract discussions but how we conduct ourselves in daily life.

All People and things are interdependent. The world has become so small that no nation can solve its problems alone, in isolation from others. That is why I believe we must all cultivate a sense of responsibility based on love and compassion for each other.
