If someone does not smile at you, be generous and offer your own smile. Nobody needs a smile more than the one that cannot smile to others.

It is not enough to be compassionate, we must act.

If a problem can be solved it will be. If it can not be solved there is no use worrying about it.

When ever Buddhism has taken root in a new land, there has been a certain variation in the style in which it is observed. The Buddha himself taught differently according to the place, the occasion and the situation of those who were listening to him.

Happiness is determined more by one's state of mind than by external events.

If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever.

Overcoming negative tendencies and enhancing positive potential are the very essence of the spiritual path.
