When you meditate you feel joy, harmony, peace, stillness, ecstasy, laughter, certainty, courage, strength, awareness and immortality. In the beginning you will feel these things vaguely, a distant knocking at your castle door.

There is no point in being a responsible member of society, nor is there any point in being an irresponsible member of society. Both are very defined descriptions of selfhood

If you can't think of an enlightened person positively, don't think of them at all.

You are on a vast wheel of birth and death. You have been through thousands of lifetimes, thousands yet to come.

Several very good friends of mine have died of AIDS. I spent a great deal of time with them when they went through that process.

I respect self-giving and I've tried to lead my life with that as the ideal. But real self-giving is when we take our being, that which is most precious to us, and we throw it into eternity with a total sense of offering.

In no way can words convey the nagual. But they open up the possibility. They allow an admission on the island of the tonal.
