Nothing is worse than the person in their 40s who says, 'I'm not going to learn this.' 'I don't carry an iPad.' That will label you and put you right in the corner. Some people do it as a badge of honor. I've seen them myself, they walk around bragging [about not knowing much about technology].

The quality of an idea does not depend on its altitude in the organization...An idea can be from any source. So we will search the globe for ideas. We will share what we know with others to get what they know. We have a constant quest to raise the bar, and we get there by constantly talking to others.

Any company trying to compete...must figure out a way to engage the mind of every employee.

Be candid with everyone.

Giving people self-confidence is by far the most important thing that I can do. Because then they will act.

Willingness to change is a strength, even if it means plunging part of the company into total confusion for a while.

In real life, strategy is actually very straightforward. You pick a general direction and implement like hell.
