To make a product, to market an idea, to come up with any problem you want to solve that doesn't have a constituency with an otaku, is almost impossible... There's a hot sauce otaku, but there's no mustard otaku.

Marketers want to get their messages in front of you. They must get their messages in front of you, just to survive. The only problem is-do you really want more marketing messages?

You don't make art after you become an artist. You become an artist by ceaselessly making art.

The reason they want you to fit in... is that once you do, then they can ignore you.

The combination of passion and art is what makes someone a linchpin.

Discomfort brings engagement and change. Discomfort means you're doing something that others were unlikely to do, because they're hiding out in the comfortable zone. When your uncomfortable actions lead to success, the organization rewards you and brings you back for more.

By my definition, most art has nothing to do with oil paint or marble. Art is what we're doing when we do our best work.
