As human beings we have the same experience of destructive and constructive emotions. We also have a human mind capable of developing wisdom. We all have the same Buddha nature.

Whether you call it Buddhism or another religion, self-discipline, that's important. Self-discipline with awareness of consequences.

Most of our troubles are due to our passionate desire for and attachment to things that we misapprehend as enduring entities.

Generosity is the most natural outward expression of an inner attitude of compassion and loving-kindness .

As you breathe in, cherish yourself. As you breathe out, cherish all Beings.

I request you to try to be warm-hearted. I ask this of you because these mental attitudes actually bring us happiness.

Firstly, as a Buddhist monk, I hold that violence is not good. Secondly, I am a firm believer in the Gandian ethic of passive resistance. And thirdly, in reality, violence is not our strength.
