As long as you think of your real self as the person you are, then of course you're going to be fearful of death. But what is a person? A person is a pattern of behavior, of a larger awareness. You know, the two-year-old dies before the three-year-old shows up, the three-year-old dies before the teenager shows up.

We are attracted to people who have traits we want in ourselves, and usually we are unattracted to people with traits that we share.

With spirit we are all children of the cosmos; Without it we are orphaned and adrift.

Awareness isn't passive. It directly leads to action (or inaction).

When the human organism is discharging its negative experience efficiently, the mind is empty of past or future concerns; there is no worry, anticipation, or regret. This means that the mind is left open to Being, the simplest state of awareness.
