You can't throw your ego away, but you can use its innate desire to experience that which is beyond itself to give you the impetus to meditate.

If you lead a sloppy life, if you indulge in your emotions, if you're always upset, freaked out, stressful, and not happy, you are wasting power and your power level will get very low.

We live in a world that is dominated by war, hate, violence and suspicion. Those are the things that come naturally in this world. So you have to will something else.

Attraction and aversion create a sense of self. There is no self. They are just thoughts. They are insubstantial. When you die, all the ideas of self will go away.

If you are with a fully enlightened being, a jivan mukta, liberated soul, the quality of light is so clear, that you don't really know that it is there until later.

If there is no way out and confrontation and battle is inevitable, one can use power and strategy, balance and wisdom and enlightenment to win, of course. But the best battle is the battle that is never fought.

When you can successfully stop thought for longer periods of time, you do move into other worlds. This can also happen in the very beginning, if a person meditates with someone who is very advanced.
