I like the challenge of trying different things and wondering whether it's going to work or whether I'm going to fall flat on my face.

For a long time I tried to manage an honesty and openness about my personal life because I’m human and I’m normal – well, semi-normal.

Luckily I am very, very privileged and feel very lucky to be getting work and my kiddies are not feeling the brunt of any kind of horror that's going on today. So I'm super lucky.

Trips to the dentist - I like to postpone that kind of thing.

If there is any message to my work, it is ultimately that it's ok to be different.

Thats what a ship is, you know. Its not a keel and a hull and a deck and sails. Thats what a ship needs. But what a ship is. What the Black Pearl really is . . . is freedom.

I'm attracted to the extreme light and the extreme dark. I'm interested in the human condition and what makes people tick. I'm interested in the things people try to hide.
