Sometimes miracles come in pairs.

First of all, if you're setting up a new company, you want to try to find a brand that can work on a global basis.

You never know with these things when you're trying something new what can happen. This is all experimental.

Never go into business purely to make money. If that's the motive you're better off doing nothing.

So I became a publisher by mistake - well, not quite by mistake, because I wanted to be an editor but I had to make sure the magazine would survive. The point is this: Most businesses fail, so if you're going to succeed, it has to be about more than making money.

The key is to set realistic customer expectations, and then not to just meet them, but to exceed them - preferably in unexpected and helpful ways.

Business has to give people enriching, rewarding lives...or it's simply not worth doing.
