If you don't actively and decidedly choose to be the best, you automatically default to the lower 80% in your field.

It doesn't matter where you are coming from. All that matters is where you are going.

I always say there are two things to be successful. The first is decide exactly what you want - set your goals - and then determine how you will achieve them (what skills you will have to learn, what actions will you have to take). And these are totally under your control. These are not dependent upon anyone else.

Goals allow you to control the direction of change in your favor.

Your ability to negotiate, communicate, influence, and persuade others to do things is absolutely indispensable to everything you accomplish in life. The most effective men and women in every area are those who can quite competently organize the cooperation and assistance of other people toward the accomplishment of important goals and objectives.

Avoid negative people at all costs. They are the greatest destroyers of self-confidence and self-esteem.
