I felt that, as time went on, an audience gets to know you and in a weird way, you kind of feel like you get to know the audience a little bit. When I'm doing stand-up gigs now, I feel like I'm doing gigs in front of people I know. I think that's the result of doing late-night shows for so long.

For me, comedy should have a certain amount of joy in it. It should be about attacking the powerful - the politicians, the Trumps, the blowhards - going after them. We shouldn't be attacking the vulnerable.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with telling the truth. I know it isn’t fashionable.

I think commercialism helps Christmas and I think that the more capitalism we can inject into the Christmas holiday the more spiritual I feel about it

HD doesn't mean anything to me. It's a technical thing. It's like demographics. A lot of people know about it.

I think holidays create so much pressure because people feel they should be having a good time. But you shouldn't.
