You cannot transmit wisdom and insight to another person. The seed is already there. A good teacher touches the seed, allowing it to wake up, to sprout, and to grow.
Nhat HanhThe practice of Zen is to eat, breathe, cook, carry water, and scrub the toilet โ to infuse every act of body, speech, and mind โ with mindfulness, to illuminate every leaf and pebble, every heap of garbage, every path that leads to our mind's return home.
Nhat HanhThe more compassionate you are, the more generous you can be. The more generous you are, the move loving friendliness you cultivate to help the world.
Nhat HanhYou have two gardens: your own garden and that of your beloved. First, you have to take care of your own garden and master the art of gardening. In each one of us there are flowers and there is also garbage. The garbage is the anger, fear, discrimination, and jealousy within us. If you water the garbage, you will strengthen the negative seeds. If you water the flowers of compassion, understanding, and love, you will strengthen the positive seeds. What you grow is up to you.
